2nd Annual Aniboom Awards open for submissions You Must Register Before You Can Post

If you have a calling for creating cartoons, Aniboom is letting you show the world your talents.

Aniboom (www.aniboom.com), the premier multi-platform animation network that partners with untapped animation talent from around the world to create the best independent animated content for global distribution, announced Friday the call for entries for its 2007 Aniboom Awards from the Ottawa International Animation Festival.

"The Aniboom Awards recognizes and salutes animators from across the globe," said Aniboom founder and president Uri Shinar. "Not only do the awards allow us to celebrate great work, but they also allow us to scope out some amazing animators with whom we may develop and produce new animation series for cross-platform distribution."

Animators can enter work into five categories, with no limit to the number of categories or submissions per entrant. Categories include Funny, Drama, Music Videos, Amateur and Experimental.

Each month for four months, one winner from each category will join the finalist pool. From there, a winner will be chosen from each category to compete for the grand prize.

Prizes include a $25,000 original series development deal, $3,000 to each category winner, Toonboom Software (valued at $7,000), and exposure to some of the most renowned industry executives.

The Aniboom Awards will be judged by entertainment executives and animation industry veterans, including Paul Diessen, creator of Yellow Submarine, the 1968 animated feature film based on The Beatles' hit.

In 2006, the Annual Aniboom Awards received more than 1,700 entries from more than 70 countries in its inaugural year. Winner Jossie Malis took home $25,000 for his animation, "Bendito Machine," an animation about faith and intolerance, which can be viewed at www.aniboom.com. Malis is currently working with the Aniboom Creators Studio to develop his original series, which is set to launch in 2008.

Aniboom's Creators Studio allows animators of all levels to pitch, produce and monetize high-quality original animated content spanning a variety of genres for worldwide channels of distribution, all year round. Animators are able to earn money based on the popularity of their creation within both the Aniboom community and other distribution platforms.
