Good news for fans of Animaniacs! The Hub is scheduled to begin airing episodes of A! beginning next month starting with a marathon. Read more about it here.
Admittedly, this isn't a huge deal for me personally since I already have the DVDs and can A! whenever I want to, but still...
I wonder what time of the day that The Hub will be airing A! Weekday afternoons are pretty much dominated by their action block HuBoom! Could this mean that Hasbro will cut some time from HuBoom to make room for A!? Or will it be a weekends only thing? I guess we'll learn Hasbro's plans soon enough.

Ahh, this is good news. I have a couple of Animaniacs DVDs but still. It's nice to see it on TV again. I'm also curious to the time of day they will be airing.

Any non-action cartoons being added to The Hub is a good thing; keeps the channel from going into Action Overload. How much Animaniacs I personally watch depends on what else is on the time. I already have the first 3 seasons of A! on DVD, and over the years I've just kind of moved on from Animaniacs. I still like the show, just not to the degree everyone else does, apparently; nowadays there are other shows I enjoy more. Still, this is good news for long time fans of the show who've been wanting to see it again.

The Hub is actually being very savvy about its programming. As Starburst pointed out, too much any one particular genre means the Hub will effectively niche itself to death. The cutesy-poo fare attracts the toddlers, Animaniacs will attract the grade schoolers, and Kaijudo will attract the junior high boys. Compare the Disney model, which offers content for everyone, from fresh from the womb to one foot in the grave.
The Hub blundered when they marginalized Lauren Faust, after she electrified their stagnant My Little Pony franchise. Lauren left the Hub, and took her enormous creativity with her; currently, Lauren has been invited to Cartoon Network, where she's made inroads with the Super BFF vignettes. The Hub needs Animaniacs to fill the void left by the Faust unit.

And I thought Hub was a station for very young kids after seeing shows like Pound Puppies and Strawberry Shortcake being shown.
The Hub specifially targets kids and teens during the day and adults at night. The Hub has aired other Hasbro properties such as Transformers Prime,G.I. JoeRenegades and R.L. Stine's Nightmare Room since day 1. The channel also has an action cartoon block (HuBoom!) that's been airing since January, IIRC. And then of course, there's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which, while aimed primarily at young girls, managed to attract a significant following among adults, and even adult males (who refer to themselves as "Bronies"). MLP:FiM is currently The Hub's highest rated show, scoring even bigger numbers than Transformers Prime.
The Hub also airs Dan Vs, which is kind of an Adult Swim-lite kind of show. Although Dan Vs currently runs on Saturday afternoons, it's hardly kiddie TV, and while it's safe for kids for to watch it, the content is more like a tamer AS show.

I don't know what your definition of "nostalgia" is, but for most everyone else, the properties that the Hub is showing are nostalgic. Even something like Animaniacs, since it's basically 20 yrs old this coming year, is very much nostalgia. You think it's just there to sell Hasbro toys. Don't have the unmitigated gall to imply (much less flat out tell) someone else what their nostalgia should or should not be. If the Hub is showing mostly nostalgic properties, then it is indeed a nostalgia channel. It may not be ONLY a nostalgia channel, but that is not the point being made. MrC considers the Hub to be a nostalgia channel, as do I in part. If you disagree, fine, but don't intimate to anyone else that it isn't just b/c you disagree.

Wow. Just...wow. I'm cool, man. We're all cool. Just put...the knife...down.
Kris, you should know that I wasn't being entirely serious when I typed that. I thought that it was obvious that I was joking and that everyone would recognize that, which I guess was my mistake. I don't use a lot of emoticons when I type, so it may not have been so obvious that I was joking, and for that, I apologize. However, I would like for it to be known that it was not my intent to "initmidate" anyone, nor was it my intent to tell anyone anything. Not in the slightest.
Unless they tell me, I don't know what anyone's personal idea of "nostalgia" is, and to be honest, I don't much care. We all like whatever we like. That's how I see it. I don't see The Hub as a nostalgia channel myself, but it's perectly fine with me if others do. It's a matter of interpretation. In any case, it's nothing that's worth arguing abut and it's certainly nothing to get riled up over. Regardless, I would hate for a flame war to break out over a simple misinterpretation, especially one that I never intended to initiate.
Relax a little, man. Try not to take everything so seriously. I don't.

I think it's weird that the Time-Warner-owned Cartoon Network has no room for their vintage Warner Animation properties like "Animaniacs" and "Batman the Animated Series" on their schedule.
I suppose leasing them out to other non-Warner-owned channels like "The Hub" will bring in bigger bucks to the parent company. Shrug.

Cartoon Network could put Animaniacs and Batman TAS back on the air. However, doing so would draw fire from the majority of CN viewers, who would surely grouse, "Aw, man. Been there, seen that. What'd'ya got that's new?"
It's rarely a good sign when one's host goes diving into the mothballs.
However, these Warner Brothers' series are new-ish material for the Hub, and are known to attract viewers in their target demographic. These series would fit in nicely into the Hub's proposed lineup, at a cost far below what a new series would run, regardless whether it's produced in-house or by a third party.
So the Hub gets known and proven material that draws grade schoolers / junior high alums at a discount price. Cartoon Network gets two of their series out of the mothballs and on the air on a competitor's dime, which functions like a 22-minute commercial for the WB product.

Technically, the so-called Silver Age WB shows are owned by Warner Bros., not Turner Broadcasting. While Turner and Warner co-own Cartoon Network together, there's little to no corporate synergy between the 2 companies. If Turner wanted to run A!, B:TAS, Superman: The Animated Series or any of the Silver Age WB shows on CN, they'd have to pay Warner a royalty and fill out a contract just like everyone else.
My guess is that Stu Snyder and Rob Sorcher, the current heads of CN's programming division, feel that shows like Animaniacs are dead franchises which wouldn't generate enough viewer interest with CN's current demographic. Team Snycher seems more interested in zeroing in on their "new hotness" and turning CN into a general kids' entertainment channel with shows like Level Up, the Hall of Game Awards and the upcoming sketch comedy show Incredible Crew than appealing to the nostalgia crowd.
The Hub, by contrast, is a fledgling network (only 2 years old as of October) and more willing to devote air space to older acquisitions, anything that will bring in more viewers.
Re: Animaniacs Coming to The Hub in December
[In reply to]
The guys in charge of the current Cartoon Network most likely consider Animaniacs, which is now 2 decades old, to be Boomerang material, and while running A! (as well as other Silver Age WB/Amblin shows such as Tiny Toon Adventures, Freakazoid! and Pinky and the Brain) on Da Boom wouldn't be a bad idea, I'm guessing that Turner doesn't want to run them on Boom, since those shows would have to be contracted (since Turner doesn't own them), and since Boom is a digital extra channel that runs ad free, Turner wouldn't be able to make back the money that the studio would have to spend in order to acquire them.
Like oneuglybunny and Starburst already said above, The Hub is much more willing to run a older series like A! than CN is nowadays, and what's more Hasbro gets gets to shell out less moollah for the series since it's 20-years-old and not in a very high demand. It's sad, but true.
Currently The Hub airs other defunct Kids' WB shows such as Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS, Batman Beyond and Men In Black: The Series.

Thanks...because when I had cable, other shows like "Family Ties", "The Wonder Years", "Happy Days", and the Adam West "Batman" would be shown on The Hub...I dunno if they show those shows now.

Presently, The Hub still carries Happy Days and Family Ties; the other shows have presently been swapped for the likes of ALF, Mork & Mindy, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Lois & Clark, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Sliders. I'd personally like to see The Hub do more with their nightly schedule than just run 30 to 40-year-old broadcast network reruns, as I'm generally not a nostalgic person (if we must have old TV shows, I'd personally rather see something a tad more eclectic like Mystery Science Theater 3000 or SCTV), but I know a lot of folks who enjoy the retro stuff, so I won't rain on their collective parades.
Getting back on-topic: I'm wondering what time slot A! will settle in once the marathon is over. I heard that A! would be airing at 3PM (EST), possibly cutting down HuBoom! and giving The Super Hero Squad Show a rest, which is just as well, if that's the case, as SHS has looped all of its' episodes a few times now.
