Banned Betty Boop? You Must Register Before You Can Post

All over the web, people reference "HA HA HA" as a banned cartoon due to drug use.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9Tb4TMibk0

Is there really any evidence it was ever banned? I don't think so.

I'd love some info if anyone has any.

Despite being on such video compilations as Cartoon Crazys - Banned & Censored, this cartoon was never officially "banned." However, many Betty Boop cartoons were syndicated to individual TV stations, and it may be been the station's choice not to air it due to its adult theme.

That's also the case with several other early Betty Boops. Some which did air had sequences deleted before broadcast.

That's what I thought. There's nothing to document this was ever banned or even dropped by TV stations, and I doubt it ever was. I think it's just a marketing ploy to sell DVDs.

Also, Betty Boop wasn't for breakfast (Meaning it wasn't intended for children). Even Disney was intended for adults..."Fantasia" is one good example.

With Betty Boop...she's a flapper and in 1934 when The Hays Code and Color came, her career went south and didn't recover.
