Hate to say it, but there have. Many cartoons not yet available on legitimate DVD's have been on bootleg DVD's, and sold mainly at comic book and collectible shows. It happens way too often here in Boston. In one instance, an FBI agent went to one of these shows, and confiscated hundreds of bootleg DVD's.

Anything that can be made can also be copied illegally, so, yes. The sad truth is that bootleg cartoon DVDs are indeed out there, and people do buy them. Often, many people purchase these illegal copies for the simple fact that some of the major studios who own the actual cartoons are just sitting on them and not releasing them on DVD for various reasons, so consumers will try to obtain the bootlegs as an alternative to nothing at all. These copies are often crell in terms of quality, but they do fulfill a need for some people.

I don't support bootlegs in general, or bootlegging something that has yet to be released because it is too new. But, for studios that sit on things, like the Betty Boop cartoons are being sat on, I say more power to the bootleggers, and shame on the studios. That said, I don't know of any good Betty Boop bootlegs...

Yes, I hate to say, as well, I own 3, two Bootlegged "The Dukes" and the "Lassie Rescue Rangers" the bootlegger did a very good job making the cover look so real, it even fooled me, (but I should of known better since there has been NO Official Press Release of those to being Released to DVD).

I saw one on the internet that was a link to a Loopy de Loop DVD. I think if Warner Brothers ever released Loopy de Loop on DVD, they would have all 49 cartoons on two DVD's. (I don't know if there would be extras though.)
