Boy falls asleep and dreams adventures

Hey people,i've been trying to find this cartoon for a long time...
It's about kid who dream adventures with his dog.Mostly adventures are in age of mayans and aztecs,as i remember.Cartoon is somewhere from the 80s... Thanks in advance :)

And forgot to say that boy usually falls asleep in his attic... maybe reading books there and getting idea for dreams :)
