Captain Flamingo lands on Jetix programming block

Breakthrough Animation Inc. has landed onto the Jetix programming block, which airs on Toon Disney as the United States broadcast home for its comedy-adventure animated series Captain Flamingo, it was announced Tuesday by Kevin Gillis, managing partner of Breakthrough Animation and the series' executive producer.
Jetix has licensed all 52 half-hours (104 11-minute episodes) of the animated series aimed at kids 6 to 12 and 44 minutes of separate Captain Flamingo content produced especially for the Internet (Webisodes) and the mobile platform (mobisodes), including story vignettes, original songs and more.
The Jetix licensing agreement follows on the heels of Toronto-based Breakthrough Animation's renewal of the hit animated series with Jetix Europe. In addition, Captain Flamingo has been licensed to YTV Canada, Nickelodeon Australia, ABC Australia, Nickelodeon Latin America and VRAK TV.

Captain Flamingo features Milo Powell who, armed with his backpack of powerful joke store novelty items, saves the day every time with a little help from his best pal, anonymous sidekick and not-so-secret admirer Lizbeth. In a world where grownups rule and kids don't get much respect, who is there to watch out for them? Who can navigate the tricky ins and outs of grown-up rules, like minding impossible-to-remember manners, eating liver that tastes like a tailpipe, or finishing that Really Huge Giant Yacht-Sized Big Gulp you started? Captain Flamingo! That's who!
Captain Flamingo was created by Heroic's John May and Suzanne Bolch and developed by Breakthrough Animation's Kevin Gillis and Atomic Cartoons' Rob Davies. It is a co-production between Breakthrough Animation, Heroic Film Company, Atomic Cartoons and PASI Animation.
Breakthrough Animation has just commenced production on Jimmy Two Shoes for Jetix Europe and Teletoon Canada.
Breakthrough Animation is currently developing My Big Big Friend as a co-production with 2D Lab in Brazil. The company is also focusing on primetime adult animation with a number of programs in development: Foolz N The Hood, The Orphanage (CBC) and Producing Emily (Canwest Global).
