Warner Bros. currently owns their own library of classic Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons; plus the entire MGM cartoon library from 1934 to 1967. They also own many of the classic Hanna-Barbera TV cartoons.
Unless a particular cartoon is in the public domain because of human error (i.e. letting the copyright lapse without renewing it.; then you are setting yourself up to be sued every time you upload one of the aforementioned cartoons to your YT channel.
Other YT members who have made similar uploads manage to stay under the radar by cleverly altering the title of the cartoon just enough to escape detection by one of YT's random title-searches.

You can find out what cartoons are still in the public domain on the internet. For example, here is a link to The Walter Lantz Cartune Encyclopedia: List of Shorts in the Public Domain. However, these lists could be out of date, so you will need to double check to make sure. There is also one for Looney Tunes, but it is also out of date.
