And worse, I'm thinking of launching a new trope. The tentative title is "Made Of Bologna," as cartoon characters seem to be made of a bologna-like substance, often with a bone core. Drawing all the myriad tissues and structures in a living body would be tedious, and also be too graphic for younger audiences.
So, if anyone here can think of an instance where a character gets cut in two, lengthwise or crosswise, kindly mention it here. The more examples, the better.

Life imitates cartoons. Don't believe me? Try typing "You're doing it wrong" into your search engine. * I have no idea how these fools survive themselves.
"Show Biz Bugs" Bugs saws a disbelieving Daffy in half--guess what happens when Daffy jumps up and down claiming he's okay.
"Daredevil Droopy" Same concept--Spike has Droopy saw him in half--although he places the fake feet in the right spot, his top and his bottom part in separate ways.
"Tweety's Circus" Sylvester teases the lion only to get scratched--every part of him falls apart--his legs walk away.

"Homer,we just brought Flanders back from the dead. Did you use the notebook to make a flock of penguins peck him to death?" Marge-"Murder He Wrote"-a Simpsons Comic story.
This Warner Bros short had the host of a show asking people to believe certain things in a spoof of "Ripley's Believe It Or Not."The running gag here was that Egghead would come onstage carrying signs that read, "It's A Fake!" and "I Don't Believe It!" At the end, when a magician claimed to be able to saw people in half, Egghead volunteered for the trick to prove him a phony, and his lower half actually walked away by itself!
"Sahara Hare" has a rather clever gag in which Yosemite Sam attempts to get into the fort Bugs is hiding in by climbing up a board. Bugs uses an axe to split the board in half--along with Sam.
"From A to Zzzz" had Ralph Phillips imagining himself in an underwater adventure. During it, he kills a shark by having it swim into his knife. The shark splits in half.

Nice examples, everyone. I've yet to screen all these candidates, but so far, they all should qualify.
From the Tom And Jerry cartoon "The Flying Cat," the little bird pulls down one of four clotheslines in Tom's path, which catches Tom under his chin. Tom's momentum flips him around so that all four lines cut through him crosswise. When Tom gets back on his feet, he notices that his body segments are misaligned. He's not happy about this.
From Looney Tunes Back In Action, while Mother is demonstrating the features of the Spy Phone to DJ Drake, Daffy's head gets cut off by the laser beam feature. His headless body goes feeling around on the floor for its missing head. "No, no, stupid, over here."
Another Looney Tunes cartoon has Wile Coyote rig a trip cord between two facing machine guns. The road runner simply shears the cord in two with his speed. The coyote, disgusted, attempts to reattach the two halves, then realizes too late that this is the worst possible thing to do under the circumstances. The two guns fire away at his midsection, creating a cloud of gunsmoke. Wile comes away a foot shorter, holding the two halves of his body together.
That reminds me of the Casper short "Fright From Wrong," in which Casper seemingly becomes an evil demon!
One of the tricks "Demon Casper" plays on the Ghostly Trio is cutting off Fatso's head with scissors. The ghost's body keeps running into walls until Fatso's head says, "Over here, stupid!" The body reattaches the head, but it doesn't end there.
"Weasel While You Work" after Barnyard Dog freezes Foghorn Leghorn, The weasel slices at him with an axe to get him out of the ice. Foghorn remarks"I've got a splitting headache" as his two halves rip away.

"Pink Outs"-One of the segments has the Pink Panther as a magician, sawing a "dummy" Pink Panther in half. When he goes to walk away from behind the box, his legs and the upper half of his body go in opposite directions. He finally pulls down the transition to the next segment like a windowshade to hide from the audience.
"Bully for Pink"-One of the things the magician's cape does to the bull is split him in half crossways. At first the bull covers his "nakedness" with a barrel, but when he sees his rear half running around by itself, he starts crying. After the Pink Panther uses the cape to put the bull back together, the bull is so happy to be "whole" again that he quits chasing the Pink Panther.
"Sleight of Hare" an episode of Tiny Toons has Buster saw Montana Max in half ala "Show Biz Bugs" with Monty insisting that it's not magic afterwards while hopping up and down--showing us that Buster did indeed saw Monty in half. A new twist to the old gag--Buster uses a chainsaw!
"The Honeymousers" "I don't see no cat, Ralph." The cat then scratches Norton into pieces. "But I feel his presence." "That's a fine time to go to pieces, Norton."
