Cinco de Mayo

Though Cinco de Mayo was yesterday, I still think we should commemorate that day with some cartoons about Mexico. Let's see... "The Three Caballeros"(Disney, 1945) Any Speedy Gonzales Cartoon. If you have any more, tell me.

This focused pretty much on all of Central and South America; but Mexico was also briefly highlighted: Saludos Amigos (Disney, 1943) and then there are the various bullfighting-themed cartoons that were done over the years (most, I believe, are set in Mexico; some might actually take place in Spain): Picador Porky (WB, 1937) Ferdinand the Bull (Disney, 1938) Bulldozing the Bull (Fleischer, 1938)* Little Pancho Vanilla (WB, 1938) The Timid Toreador (WB, 1940) The Torrid Toreador (Terrytoons, 1942) The Hollywood Matador (Walter Lantz, 1942) Senor Droopy (MGM, 1949) Bulldozing the Bull (Terrytoons, 1951) Caballero Droopy (MGM, 1952) For Whom the Bulls Toil (Disney, 1953) Bully for Bugs (WB, 1953) Bull Fright (Famous Studios, 1955) Pedro and Lorenzo (Famous Studios, 1956) Mucho Mouse (MGM, 1957) (* Not to be confused with Bulldozing the Butt) (sorry, I just couldn't resist a good-natured ribbing!)
