Hi, found this site on accident, but glad I did. I was especially glad when I saw this board on collecting 16mm film.
My husband is a collector of 16mm film. His collection right now stands anywhere between 1000-1500 titles. We just bought a collection of about 100 Laurel and Hardy shorts too. My husband is also an animator and has been in the industry for about 20 or so years. He has animated on many of the big Disney films and also at Dreamworks. His mentor was Bob Clampett. Because of his involvement in animation he has a lot of cartoons on 16mm. He is very involved in another 16mm film website, along with the BIG auction website where he buys and sells many films. Some of the Laurel and Hardy's will be coming up shortly.
I from time to time will buy him films/shorts/cartoons off his wish list for special occassions. If you have anything you are selling out of your collection, please feel free to email me at Cassalily-aol.com. Our anniversary is coming up and I thought I might get him a film.
I didn't love this hobby in the beginning, as it can create certain situations that can be difficult in a marriage...(i.e., it can be expensive). But I have learned to appreciate it and enjoy it.
I am so happy to see this website exists for animation. Thanks!
