"Dragon" takes award for sound editing in feature

DreamWorks Animation's "How To Train Your Dragon" picked up a trophy Sunday night at the Motion Picture Sound Editors' Golden Reel Awards, defeating challengers Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, Tangled, The Illusionist and Toy Story 3. How To Train Your Dragon won in the category of Sound Effects, Foley, Dialogue and ADR in an Animation Feature Film. The awards ceremony was held at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles. For Sound Effects, Foley, Dialogue and ADR Animation in Television, the winner was The Penguins of Madagascar: "The Lost Treasure of the Golden Squirrel." Other nominees vying for the honor were Firebreather, Futurama: "The Late Philip J. Fry," G.I. Joe: Renegades: "Homecoming Part 2," Monster High, Prep And Landing: "Operation Secret Santa," The Avengers - Earth's Mightiest Heroes!: "Masters of Evil" and The Secret Saturdays. In Direct to Video - Animation, Family Guy: It's a Trap won the MPSE Award. Others nominated in the category were Batman: Under the Red Hood, DC Showcase: Jonah Hex, The Penguins of Madagascar: "Dr. Blowhole's Revenge" and Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes.
