Lights Fantastic on TCM
At 9am (PST) on May 6th, TCM will be broadcasting Lights Fantastic. It's actually a brilliant cartoon musical featuring a brilliant barber shop quartet piece as you go threw a bunch of Time Square billboards. Check it out.

Er..... Are you referring to the Friz Freleng classic? That's actually called "Lights Fantastic"... hold on a mo, I'll just click on your link... (*Nathan clicks on the link*) ...yup, you mean "Lights Fantastic", not "Fantastic Lights". Great cartoon that! Anyone who has TCM will love it. I love it when they play the conga music from "Hollywood Steps Out". Enjoy!

Gee nathan, your a genius! Thanks for the correction. Dork. Actually E, I caught this about two years ago, it is edited unfortunately. So I guess this one they'll show this time will be unedited now that I said that.

TCM does list the title as "Lights Fantastic." I'll watch it on my DVR later.

I got up early (for me, anyway... I work nights!) and saw the whole cartoon. Two scenes have been deleted from some prints: Chinese people reading Chinese print and speaking Chinese very quickly, and part of the final scene with an Egyptian cigarette ad, in which the billboard's last frame shows a cheesecake picture of a red-haired woman in a bathing suit. Both scenes appeared in the version that aired... hurray!

Not on DVD, but it is available on "The Golden Age Of Looney Tunes, Vol. 3" (VHS). Hopefully it will be seen on one of the LTGC DVDs.
