     "Fried Dynamite" threads...

Any post dealing with "Fried Dynamite" will be summarily deleted- unless it focuses on the cartoon interludes. I have deleted all the previous spam posts up to this point and will continue to do so. The method in which they popped up seems to look resemble a sad attempt at "viral marketing".

Be forewarned.

Thanks, Kris, for getting rid of those. I hope we won't get more of that garbage in the future. I pm'd Dave about those threads, asking if perhaps the new toolbar items (Digg, etc.) that we have in the Forum had something to do with this.

Did you notice that late on Friday night there were about 2 dozen or more newly-registered users online all of a sudden? Most of their names were pretty peculiar-sounding, suggesting that they were all kids under 18 years of age. Maybe we need to come up with a method of screening people under 18 who try to register in the Forum, just to make sure they're not going to fool around and post a lot of stupid garbage.

Thanks, Kris.

My guess is that it was only 1, 2, or at the most 3 teenyboppers (and that's not a generalization; if you read those posts, you would see that there's nothing else they could have been), all creating multiple accounts, so as to look like a mob all saying the same things. It was a spam attack, plain and simple. Not much you can do about it, except to notify a mod, which is what many of us tried to do yesterday. Thankfully, it's over and done with now. We can now return to the serious business of discussing animated cartoons! Tongue

That was really weird! All those new people just flooded the board. I looked at the Board thingy and it said "70 new posts". What is Fried Dynamite?

It replaced "Fridays" on CN. Same format though, various shorts between live action interstitials.

Phew, no more random spammers about a stupid Fried Dynamite show. I agree with Braden that the 70 posts came out as quite a surprise. Thanks, Kris!
