I've seen some comericals for Sara Lee's cakes ("nobody dosen't like Sara Lee") & they have been using the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" song that was in one of the episodes of Ren & Stimpy. It's not even a cover, they used the original soundtrack.
It's intreresting that in the ads the song shows how much people enjoy the products, while on R&S it was about always-angry Ren being forced to be happy & listen to the song against his will.

Yes, using a song from Ren & Stimpy, the ultimate naughty cartoon, to shill Sara Lee products. Now that's irony. Akin to how the same songs you used to rock out to in your wild youth are now being played over the PA system in the waiting room of your kid's dentist's office.

Also reminds me how The Doors' "Light My Fire" was used (with the lyrics suitably tweaked) for a Ford commercial... and this was while Jim Morrison was still alive!

Another excample: Spike is promoting their mob marathon with an ad that has quick cuts of people getting "wacked". In the background there is a marching tune that I'm sure is from the SpongeBob movie. It's the music intrude of "now we are men" (Patrick, time for some slappy!)
It's ironic that a cute quirky children's show is used in a commerical for violent films like those.

I have also heard song "Happy Happy Joy Joy". It's really Awesome!!
