...Hey? o-o
|
|
|
...Um... So I didn't see a NEW USERS HERE place anywhere around...So I decided to plonk myself here. If I'm breaking any rules then I'm sorry. ...So how do I go about introducing myself? Kay, the name's Domi (Dominica-Clemente if you want to get technical) and I'm a slightly insane English girl who's due to turn 14 soon. o-o As for interests...well, I'm a wannabe author, I like making acoustic covers of Ke$ha songs (despite the fact I can't sing) and I'm a slight fangirl of Marvin The Martian. I mean, seriously. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fje3gLu4_tc If that isn't the most adorable thing you've ever seen then you, sir, probably do not have a heart. >:B ...Yes, I am a teenager who watches Looney Tunes. Does that surprise you? o-o I also listen to Alanis Morrisette and don't read gossip magazines~ So, uh, that's basically me in a nutshell. Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. >>;

Well, hi there Domi. Welcome to the BCDB! I'm kris, one of the admin here.
I'm a slightly insane English girl who's due to turn 14 soon Is the "slightly insane" part due to you being British, or a completely different quality? ^_~
...and I'm a slight fangirl of Marvin The Martian. I went as Marvin for Halloween this past year. I would assume the y'all celebrate All Hallow's Eve acsross the pnd, not sure HOW you celebrate it. Check out the mask/helmet I wore (and made!):
Yes, I am a teenager who watches Looney Tunes. Does that surprise you? Uh, no. It doesn't even make most of us blink. Let me assure you, you are probably one of the youngest members of the board. Chronologically, anyway. ^_~ Make sure you visit some of the other forums. You'll see a pretty good variety. Actually, in this section we have a pretty good game going right now- it's a "mystery character" guessing game. Check out the thread here.

I would tip my hat, but a you can guess, it was definitely NOT coming off of that mask. Incidentally, I also went as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man last year.

Heh, thanks for the welcomes guys~ I FEEL LOVED.
Is the "slightly insane" part due to you being British, or a completely different quality? ^_~ Ahaha, I'm not sure. o-o I mean, I know some people who are also slightly insane, but, eh, I also know some people who aren't. Mind you, most of them belong to my cheerleading club so I guess that pretty much explains it. ...Or it could be because I'm homeschooled >>; Btw, that Marvin costume is EPIC. <3 It looks pokable o-o -pokes it-

The problem was I had to get a GED to finish it all and it took me longer to get through High School.

Ow! Quittit! LOL! So, as a cheerleader, do you cheer for cricket, soccer, basketball, proper etiquette, incredibly dry humor, tea at 4 o'clock, or what? I would have said football, but since that is a very different sport here, I'll just stay with soccer.

Welcome to the Forum, I'm a moderator on the Warner Bros. Discussions Board and I hope you'll find time to explore the various topics there and perhaps to start up your own discussions of all things Looney Tunes!

I would also like to welcome you to this forum. I am a fan of Marvin myself (as well as many other LT characters). Although I should say that the cartoon you linked to is probably my least favourite of the Marvin Martian cartoons. It's a good example of whenever Chuck Jones did not have a good writer working with him, his stuff tended to get very VERY wordy. Feel free to continue this discussion in the Warner Bros. section like Zavkram said. Oh, and about covering Ke$sha's songs, don't feel bad. Ke$ha herself can't sing either.

We do enter competitions though. It's not all great though. Some of the girls...well there's a particular alpha pack of blonde stuck up girlie-dogs (you know what I mean) led by the paritcularly formidable Brook. You can guess what she's like. >.> I remember one particularly memorable Thursday when she pretended to open a door for me, waited til I was like: |----| <- that far away...then she "accidentally" let it go and it crashed into my face and...well, while it didn't break my nose, it hurt for a few days and next morning that was this great big green bruise. I had to wear a crapload of foundation for like a week. >.> I also uttered some very non-PG words upon impact.

It was just the first original short I could find at the time. I WOULD have linked to a Duck Dodgers episode but I figured I'd better use an original short in case I get disgruntled fanboys like "THAT'S NOT CANON GET IT AWAAYYY" ...The spanking part confused me. I woulda thought he'd fight a LITTLE. >.> It's what I'd do.
Oh, and about covering Ke$sha's songs, don't feel bad. Ke$ha herself can't sing either. Lol, I know right? xD Well...I can KIND OF sing. I just sound better singing slow stuff. Shakespear's Sister works quite well. ~That doesn't stop me from rocking out to The Stiff Dylans though.

I'm more of a crooner singer so I can sing songs from Sinatra, yet I can do some folky musicians like Simon and Garfunkle. I can also falsetto like Brian Wilson and Lou Christie. And every time I try to go to my aunt's for a Holiday Party...I gotta sing this at karaoke.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyRqdzF8swY

If you still have a VHS player... Who doesn't? =P
...consider buying the VHS tape Marvin the Martian - Space Tunes from Amazon.com for just $2.75 and up. Oh wow, thanks for showing me! 8D You see it's my birthday on the 25th and I was stuck for things to ask for~ In the words of Marvin himself, "oh goodie." ^____^ -MrCleveland: That's interesting. o-o Got an example online that I can listen to?

Shoot...I don't! I may ask someone who has a camera-phone if I ever go out karaokeing one night, but I also fear that it may go down sooner than I can put it up because of copyrights.

Ah. o-o That's okay. I don't think copyright applies to kareoke anyway, only to the original songs~

Duck Dodgers is seriously the best recent cartoon show I know of. Even though it wasn't made in the golden age of animation, and thus ain't canon, the sheer quality makes it canon in my book. ;) Also, welcome. :)

^THIS. SO MUCH THIS. It was always canon to me. o-o But I'm still trying to decide whether it "actually happened" per se or whether it's a show-within-a-show. Or something. But that doesn't stop it eing awesome \o/

Right. I am so disappointed with Warner Bros. for not getting it out on DVD. They give out direct-to-DVD Scooby-Doo almost every year, and they even released the horror that is Loonatics Unleashed, but their best recent show? Naaah, let's forget about that. It drove me to start making my own DVD set of DD, with the source material "acquired" from other fans. But if they would release it officially, I'd still buy it in an instant. Even thinking about them not releasing it makes me sad, mad and annoyed.
