"House of Mouse" to return?
|
|
|
From what I heard..."House of Mouse" is to return on The Disney Channel. Is this the rerun or a new show? And if it's new...will it be in CGI?

sorry, I believe they will just rerun old eps. I WISH THEY BRING BACK SOME (oops, had caps on) of the old one Saturday morning lineup, like Recess or Pepperann. Or at least have the whole series on DVD. I know Itunes sell dowloads of shows.

House of Mouse was so good that it scared me. Seeing the Disney characters interact together with such sharp dialogue, fast paced gags and occasional violence was like seeing a church girl talk dirty. I liked it but it was so good it was scary.

We now know that Disney's House of Mouse is coming back to TV for the first time ever on all of its local ABC Television Network stations in the U.S. as part of their "ABC Kids" block around January 2, 2012, even on Disney Channel and the "Disney XD" network around early July 2012. Probably because Mickey Mouse and Jiminy Cricket were being voiced by Bret Iwan & Phil Snyder, respectively, they're uncancelling the show because Walt Disney Television and its Animation Studios subsidiary are taking over "Walt Disney Television Animation" by June 30, 2011 (the same day as the closure of DisneyToon Studios), just before "Disney's House of Mouse" (2nd Series) was first being created as the pilot episode, a 90-minute made-for-TV special. And then beginning with the first season between fall 2011 and spring 2012, almost 26 30-minute episodes and 1 90-minute TV special under the course of each season of "Disney's House of Mouse" (2nd Series) was being created, produced and developed by Walt Disney Television and its Animation Studios subsidiary, almost each year for five years. I'm so happy that Disney's House of Mouse is finally returning to the U.S. airwaves in early 2012, according to some of the staff from The Walt Disney Company, THANK YOU!!!

Um, you sure about that? Seems odd that Disney would be doing this when... a) ABC will be renaming their Saturday morning block ABC Weekend Adventure and will be switching to an edutainment/socially conscious format. This has been confirmed here: http://www.snta.com/php/display.php?p=program&p_id=301 ...and there's no mention of a House of Mouse revival, and b) Disney XD is a boy-centric network specializing in action cartoons and male-centric tweencoms, neither of which category Disney's House of Mouse falls into. HoM would've fit on Toon Disney, but not XD. Finally, I'm on Toon Zone, and there's been no mention of this news there, or anywhere else on the internet about this except for the 2 threads created about it here. News of a new Disney animated show, especially a revival of House of Mouse, would be all over the internet. So unless a link or some other official source of information can be cited to confirm this news, I'm tempted to call baloney on this.

Here's a link I showed it to everyone from DeviantArt who are big fans of Disney: http://ddd1988.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4b0ejz According to some of the staff from The Walt Disney Company, "Disney's House of Mouse" (1st Series) is finally returning with over 52 episodes and 2 made-for-TV specials being shown on "Disney Channel" in the U.S. from 2012-2020 and on "Disney Cinemagic" in the U.S. from 2013-2021, while over 130 episodes and 6 made-for-TV specials of "Disney's House of Mouse" (2nd Series) was being shown in repeats on Disney Channel in the U.S. from 2014-2022 and 2015-2023, which was just in fact after each season premieres on both of those television channels each year in the U.S. from 2014-2023 respectively. Dude, you posted this "news" back in June, and it's still not true. No television network would plan it's schedule as that far into the future. Nobody. Most networks don't even know what they'll be airing 12 months from now, let alone 12 years, as your expecting us to believe. Not only is this totally fake, but you also double posted. Disney presently has no plans to revive House of Mouse. If this were really happening, the news would be all over the internet, not just on 1 person's DeviantArt page. Anyway, isn't DeviantArt supposed to be for fan art?

Also, when I tried to look up "House of Mouse" revival, most of the topics appeared to be based upon that one person attempting to spread this rumor. Also, yes, Deviantart is for fan art--and for art in general. I am somewhat impressed and amused that this person managed to come up with so many title ideas though.

This does open the door to one question, however: why would The Walt Disney Company cancel House Of Mouse? It seemed like an ideal venue to field test new cartoons, tickle the nostalgia market by airing older cartoons, and cameo characters from familiar Disney films. The Walt Disney Company has a huge library at its disposal, at least one house animation unit, and sponsors would flock to advertise their wares on a Disney-branded show. I can't think of one good reason why the Disney empire would allow such a showpiece vehicle to languish the way that it has. In essence, House Of Mouse was thirty minutes of "This is Disney. Disney good. Buy some today."

Rod Roddy! I knew I recognized that voice! I recently heard that he and Bob had a falling out which led to Bob completely ignoring him in his recent biography. What happened between them?

I can't think of one good reason why the Disney empire would allow such a showpiece vehicle to languish the way that it has. Near as I can figure, House of Mouse was axed for the same basic reason all shows get axed: lack of ratings. I know my local ABC affiliate aired the show at a really undesirable time slot; it typically ran at 11:30AM-12:00PM EST, a time which most Saturday morning shows typically get pre-empted for sports and/or local/syndicated programming, or alternatively at 6-6:30AM, not much better. Indeed, I haven't heard anyone outside of the internet talking about the show, so I'm guessing it simply failed to find a substantial audience following. In essence, House Of Mouse was thirty minutes of "This is Disney. Disney good. Buy some today." Well, yes and no, IMHO. One the one hand, it was great to see Disney actually want to make new shorts with Mickey and the gang which aren't just aimed at preschoolers, but on the other hand, HoM had a lot of potential for comedy and stories that was barely tapped. They had legions of characters from Disney's various features available to them, which the writers could have mined for some shorts of their own, but the features characters' never went beyond brief cameos or gag appearances. This could have a been a fresh new show focusing on an entire self-contained Disneyverse in which all of the studio's various franchises interacted in new, unexpected and hilarious ways. Something like this idea Space Demon typed up in our blog recently. Now I would've watched a show like that.

They can BS you...especially in The Forum Site! I got eaten-up by many who were VERY bitter and sarcastic on there and one blocked me from replying. (I'll tell you more by PM). But I'd be skeptic with The House of Mouse...it didn't succeed when it was on...so Disney may do something a-la "Looney Tunes Show". (I know I mentioned competition, but...Disney may make Mickey and Donald Roommates, In my honest opinion....)
