There were more new episodes produced in 1985, and ten more in 1987. These new episodes feature Elroy's alien pet Orbitty, and Rosie the robot was seen more often than in the original series.

Yes. There were only 24 episodes from that time. They were constantly rerun on Saturday mornings throughout the '60's and '70's.

The 24 original episodes was shown on ABC Primetime for one season, then rerun on CBS and then NBC often in the late 1960s and 1970s. The end credits had George walking Astro on a treadmill and uttering the classic quote "Jane!! Stop This Crazy Thing!!" 41 new episodes were made for weekday syndication in Fall 1985 with the original voice cast and then 10 new episodes were added in the Fall 1986 season. Orbitty the alien with springs for legs was added as a family pet. The end credits in the original episodes was replaced with a standard credit list with drawings of the characters flashing by every few seconds plus the Hanna-Barbera Swirly Star logo at the end. The laugh track in the original episodes was removed as well. George O'Hanlon ,who played George Jetson, suffered from serious health problems in 1985 and was blind at the time and had to have the words in his dialogue spoken to him before he performed it for voice recording. O'Hanlon, Mel Blanc, and Daws Butler survived to record their roles for the "Jetsons" theatrical movie which was released in 1990, after all 3 of them died.

One correction: Daws Butler was NOT in "Jetsons: The Movie." He passed away on May 19, 1988. He was replaced by Patrick Zimmerman. (By the way, "Jetsons: The Movie" was the last film made by Mel Blanc and George O'Hanlon. For some inexplicable reason, Janet Waldo (now the sole surviving member of the original cast) was replaced by pop star Tiffany (who had already recorded the singing voice of Judy). I guess they wanted her speaking voice to match her singing voice, but Janet was very upset about that decision (and rightfully so).)
