Karikaturen en Deutschland (Cartoons in Germany)
Since my German cousin will be coming next week, I would like to know what cartoons are set in Germany (Like many "Family Guy" or "Simpsons" cartoons which have Hitler...but then that could be another thread)! I also wonder what American Cartoon Characters are VERY popular there...I know Donald Duck is, but are ther any others?

"Heidi's Song," Hanna-Barbera 1982. This story, takes place in both Switzerland and Germany. "Sir Donald Of Bavaria," The Osmonds, Rankin-Bass, 1972. Donny, Jimmy, and Fuji end up in a Bavarian kingdom. "Hansel And Gretel," and "The Snow Queen" both have German settings.

There's a ton of them if you focus on the wartime era. Here's one of the more notorious ones with unflattering portrayals galore: http://www.bcdb.com/...fy-The_Commando.html

Germany's Studio Film Bilder produced the series Celebrity Deathmatch Hits Germany in 2001. It was like MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch, but with German celebrities. Hans Fischerkoesen's Der Schneemann (aka Snowman in July and The Snowman) was produced by a German company in 1944 in both Germany and the Netherlands -- and set in Germany. It ended up in the public domain after Allies seized the print(s) at the end of the Second World War. It often was screened in syndication on kids' TV (or as part of theatrical kiddie matinee packages) in America.
