Madcap Manu

Hi there. It's been about 5 years since I logged in, but this is bugging me. I know this animated series of shorts was short lived in the UK on The Childrens Channel in the early 1990s (maybe the very very late 1980s). As the title suggests, I believe it was called Madcap Manu/Manoo or something along those lines. I believe it was French. The main character, Manu/Manoo, was some sort of mohawked punk type. The episodes were between 30 seconds and 3 minutes (not really sure but they were short). It was similar in length and style to Ernest the Vampire and Le Paif that were also shorts shown, seemingly, during the commercial breaks. I'd just appreciate any information, especially if it were a picture. But confirmation that I'm not going insane would be appreciated. Cheers.

Welcome back, Krow! Yes, this was a French series, originally called Manu. And the title character did look like Tintin gone wild. Cast and crew information (from the Planete Jeunesse site): Studio: Jingle Production Year: 1990 Episodes: 104 Comic Strip Creator: Frank Margerin Director: Jean-Yves Raimbaud Producer: Christian Masson Writer: Frank Margerin Storyboards: Eric Dora, Michel Granier, Olivier O'Groj Animation Studio: HZ Animation Character Design: Frank Margerin Animation Director: Brenda Chat Backgrounds: Philippe Traversat Music: Claude Sitruk Initial broadcast: 1991 (La Cinq) Synopsis: Manu is an adolescent who looks like a little rocker with his leather jacket and yellow cowlick. Always cheerful, in a good mood and ready to party with his friend Robert, he involuntarily causes several misfortunes to those he runs across. His family, modest and typically French, isn't without blemish. In fact, his father Raoul is nervous man and gives lessons when he should be the first to receive them; Josiane, his seven-year-old sister, is a capricious girl who plays with dolls, Simone, his mother, is a little more reasonable and calms everyone's excesses. After creating the character of Lucien in a comic strip, Frank Margerin created Manu in an animated cartoon in 1990. Afterwards, he drew three comic strips which inspired some episodes. In one episode, Marsupilami puts in a guest appearance.
