Magical Monkey Cartoon (Help Finding) You Must Register Before You Can Post

Hi,

When I was a child my parents use to have a VHS tape of a cartoon referencing to "Magic Monkey". It was one of my favorites (watched it over 100times) I searched everywhere on the internet and came up empty handed or the wrong film. I remember some parts of the cartoon and was hoping if someone can lead me to a name? or site i can probably purchase a copy of it.

Its just one of those days where I just want to go back to my childhood. the cartoon is of the monkey falling to earth and a normal family finds him and adopts him since he forgot where and who he is after the fall. The kids hide him in their room and realize he has magic powers and there was one character with the name "Ham-bo-bow" hamburger in cantonese. he uses his fur to create magic and help the kids get by school and bullies along with house hold chores. if anyone can help thanks a bunch.

This is just a guess, but the show in question could be Monkey Magic, another animated re-yelling of the Journey of the West. This was an animated series which ran breifly in U.S. synidcation (from 1998 to 1999) before being completley obscured by a more popular take on this myth, a series known as Dragon Ball.

Nonetheless, perhaps this is another of the many cartoon adaptations of the Buddhist "Journey to the West" tale. That's what I thought immediately after you made your initial post.

Another guess is that it could be The Magic Land of Alakazam (1960) another retelling of Journey to the West, this time as an animated movie. I saw this movie when it aired on the syndicated SFM Holiday Network, where it aired under the title of Alakazam the Great.

No, the events aznsimon described didn't happen in that movie.
