Melting cartoon You Must Register Before You Can Post

Hello!

I have this vivid memory from childhood about watching a scene in a cartoon in which:

someone melts

someone else scoops up the melted person's "face" in his hands and looks at it

and there might be an evil wizard

I was probably watching this in the early nineties. This scene terrified me at the time, so it may have been an intense scene of some type. Ring any bells for anyone?

There's one cartoon with a melting scene, and another scene with a face held in another character's hands: Rock And Rule by Nelvena Studios in Canada.

The melting scene happens to a mariner who used a public phone. He'd overheard some musicians mention their quest to reconnect with a young lady. The snitch phoned the evil mastermind's henchmen, who rewarded the snitch by melting him on the spot.

The face-holding scene came earlier, when the evil mastermind used stage tricks to lure the young lady away from her bandmates. At one point, she followed a butterfly to a rose. When she picked up the rose with the butterfly, the insect's wings formed an image of the mastermind's face, which continued speaking to her.

Rock And Rule has some mighty trippy animation in it.
