MyToons.com contest offers artists iPhones, cash

MyToons.com, the new premier online animation community, announced Tuesday that it will show its support of art and animation with the new Bust In & Win Contest, running through October 26. Work entered in the Bust In & Win contest will be judged by Pixar animator and animation instructor Andrew Gordon, LAIKA/house director Mike Wellins; Emmy Award-winning animator Rusty Mills; animation industry expert and MyToons president Paul Ford; and legendary veteran animator, speaker, and founder of AR&T Associates, Inc. Paul Fierlinger. All cartoonists, illustrators, artists and animators are invited to enter the Bust In & Win Contest at MyToons.com. Two winners will be chosen at random from the entrants each week, and two grand prize winners will be announced on November 16. "MyToons is both proud of and inspired by our quickly-growing animation community. We understand the hard work that goes into creating artwork and animation, and are consistently amazed by the quality of work they're producing," says Stacey Ford, chief operating officer and co-founder of MyToons.com. "We hope that the prizes we award will both encourage and enable these artists to continue creating and inspiring." Garnering over 2.5 million unique visitors since its launch in March, MyToons.com is targeted toward seasoned professional animators, artists and animation fans alike. Itr , allows members to upload and share their artistic creations and animated favorites with the entire world for free. Members can also extend their reach beyond MyToons.com by easily embedding animations and games on other blogs or Web pages in multiple resolutions. Weekly winners will be chosen at random by a computer program, and these winners will be announced each Friday through October 26. The grand prize winners, chosen from all entries by the panel of experts, will be announced November 16 following the close of the contest. Twenty-four $50 Visa Cash cards will be awarded at a rate of two per week to contestants chosen at random by the computer program. An 8GB iPhone and a Motion Computing LE 1700 Tablet will be awarded to the top artist and animator, respectively. All prizes must be claimed by November 30.
