"Penguins of Madagascar" takes Daytime Emmy Award

For the second year in a row, Nickelodeon's "Penguins of Madagascar" has won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Animated Program. The 39th annual Daytime Emmy Awards took place Saturday at the Beverly Hilton and aired live on HLN. They were held by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Penguins of Madagascar first aired in 2008. Also nominated for Outstanding Children's Animated Program were Nickelodeon's Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and SpongeBob SquarePants, along with the PBS shows Curious George and Sid the Science Kid. Peep & The Big Wide World (American Public Television) was in the running as well. Kevin Clash, who plays Elmo on Sesame Street, won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performance in a Children's Series. Also nominated were Leslie Carrara-Rudolph (Abby Cadaby on the same show) and Dakota Goyo (Josh on R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series).
