Peter Pan gets overlooked.

As a child my favorite Disney movie was Peter Pan and I still consider it the best. The one thing that has always bothered me is that Tinker Bell gets all the fans. I consider Peter to be the best character in the movie, but I could never find good merchandise to buy that was purely Peter-oriented. Once I went on the official merchandise website, typed in Peter Pan and was bombarded with Pixies! I understand that the whole Pixie Hollow craze has helped make Tinker Bell popular, it just saddens me that I cannot buy a Peter Pan t-shirt at Disney World.

I understand that the whole Pixie Hollow craze has helped make Tinker Bell popular Actually, Tink was popular before the Disney Fairies line was launched; in fact Disney Fairies was created because of Tinker Bell's popularity. Tink was a part-time Disney Princess before proving worthy of receiving her own toy line. There are 2 reasons why you see more Tinker Bell merch than merch for Peter Pan: 1. Tinker Bell has the benefit of possessing 2 X chromosomes. Generally and demographically speaking, more females buy Disney merchandise than males, and Tink is extremely popular with girls. 2. Peter Pan doesn't have any current DTVs, TV shows or specials starring him currently, so naturally there's going to be a scarcity of Peter Pan related merch. Right now, the 2 Never Land franchises being capitalized upon are Disney Fairies and Jake and the Never Land Pirates.

Yeah, I guess as a female, I missed the love Tinker Bell memo. I found Tinker Bell was just too mean for me to like her. (Of course, Peter Pan wasn't the nicest all the time either.) I think I liked Peter because he just seemed to have the perfect life. He lived on an island where basically everyone liked him. Plus, I had a huge crush on him. (Who wouldn't love a red head in green that goes flying around looking in peoples' windows...?)
