Requesting Advice for being a Writer. You Must Register Before You Can Post

Looking for advice on how to start my wanted career as a cartoon writer.

I saw an article saying I should go do voluntary work at various schools and restaurants and share my ideas with the public.

Anybody agree with the article or are there other things I could be doing?

Volunteer work at restaurants? Sorry, I don't get it. And nobody should volunteer at a restaurant -- it's a profit-making business.

Is the article online? If so, please provide a link to it.

Well maybe it didn't say volunteer for restaurants, but it said to in schools.

I can't seem to find it at this moment but saw this:
