"Return of Hanuman," the 2D animated sequel to "Hanuman," won two awards at the Ficci-Frames 2008 festival, held in the Indian city of Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay). A co-production of Toonz Animation India and Percept Picture Company, it won Best Animated Feature Film. In addition, it won a special Jury Award for outstanding contribution to Indian animation. Earlier, Return of Hanuman won the award for best animated feature film at the Golden Cursor Animation Awards, presented by CNBC-18 and Aptech. The Ficci-Frames BAF honors excellence in animation, creative talents, visual effects and gaming segments from across the world. The movie has also been adapted into a mobile game. Based at the Technopark campus in Thiruvananthapuram (near Calcutta), Toonz has become a major animation studio for United States and European producers. Founded in 1999, Toonz has such top-class clients as Disney, Cartoon Network, Marvel, Hallmark, Paramount and BBC. "These awards are a special recognition for the dedicated talents at Toonz, and I am sure that this will definitely spur us towards greater accolades," Toonz Animation CEO P. Jayakumar said Friday in a news release.
