I've seen people ask questions pertaining to this rare Hanna-Barbera movie. I found out that it was released internationally, but not in the US. I also found it on some video site or another (I can't tell you which one, though). The speaking is in Spanish, but the songs are in English. And the speaking parts were recently uploaded to YouTube in English (the quality isn't too great though). So I just thought I'd share the links. This is one HECK of a trippy movie, and I found it hard to follow, but that's just me (I was saying to myself "okay, what in the world is going on here?!" I just found it confusing) Oh, and just so you know, these are *NOT* my videos so PLEASE DO NOT critisize me on the quality of these. If anyone can come up with better qualities of this movie, then by all means do so. The Movie Itself (Spanish) http://www.tudou.com/...ms/view/ZbXJb1bCuYs/ English Intro & 50's Intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Onjxifldx8 English 60's Intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvbacTXB9js English 70's Intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e30BDxJhnBY English 80's Intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaO0T1bdVik Again, PLEASE don't blame me for the rotten quality of the English clips. They're not mine, I did not upload them, I'm just sharing because I rarely get a chance to share ANYthing.

I'm surprised this was released in Spanish. This was a very interesting film, originally it was developed as a feature length television special for ABC. It was to be Directed by Ralph Bakshi. It was a major commitment by ABC at the time, and there were a lot of very intriguing sequences done. However, it did not proceed either on schedule or on budget and production eventually halted and Bakshi left the project. In an attempt to deliver the film to ABC, a producer was assigned to try and piece together an ending. Oddly enough, it was the same producer who had done the HB-TV music-animated home videos. The picture depicted in a Bakshi style the history of Rock and Roll. The new ending, however, actually had Yogi Bear footage in it. The final blow to the project came when it became apparent that the music royalties were so enormous, that the film could not feasibly be distributed. It's a shame, because all the original Bakshi material is very intriguing, stylized and he did include a lot of great music. I believe that eventually they even tried to re-record all the music with "covers" so it could be released. They were pretty good, but added even more cost to a project that had little hope for distribution at that time. It is a shame, though, that all the good animation cannot be enjoyed in some way today. And of course, the "covers" just weren't the same as using original tracks. I'm not sure if ABC owns this, or it is now in the Warner Brothers library, but today there might be a chance for this film if some dispensation could be obtained from music publishers. <br>I would also note that this was not made for children. It was definitely directed at adults and in a lot of ways before it's time. It has occurred to me this could be released in a series of shorts, because it does go through periods of music history, albeit with a dramatic through line.
