For awhile, SNL had some animated sketches such as Mr. Bill and Fun House. Any good skits from the Funhouse (Well, I thought they were lame.)

You thought they were lame, but you want to talk about them?.......OK. I wasn't aware that SNL had stopped doing TV Funhouse, mind you, I haven't been watching SNL lately. There were a few recurring segments on TV Funhouse, most notably "The Ambiguously Gay Duo", featuring the voices of Steven Colbert (as Ace) and Steve Carrel (as Gary), "Fun with Real Audio" (pretty self explanatory), and "The X-Presidents"; 4 former U.S. Presidents (Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr.) are struck with lightning and become super heroes. I liked how every X-Presidents segment ended with the Presidents performing a bubblegum rock song a la The Archies. They even copied some of The Archies' moves. Unfortunately, SNL can't do the "X-Presidents" sketches anymore, since 2 of the ex Presidents, Reagan and Ford, have since passed on.

I think Andy Sandberg and his films have taken the place of the Saturday TV Funhouse. I do miss the funhouse, but Sandberg has some funny stuff too. The most famous being D**k in a Box with Justin Timberlake.

Well, they could do "Dead Ex-Presidents" or "Flesh-Eating Zombie Presidents"! BTW, Mr. C., "The Mr. Bill Show" was never animated...it was all live-action using stationary clay figures. OK, yes... whenever Mr. Bill was being tortured in some way the film would cut to a close-up of his face, which would have this changed expression: but I don't think that actually qualifies as animation...

I can give you an obscure SNL animated segment; anybody remember Tippy Turtle? Tippy Turtle was a cartoon which ran on SNL during the era when Dick Ebersol was executive producer, IIRC. Tippy was an anthropomorphic cartoon turtle who was a genuine louse; he'd go around playing nasty pranks on people with absolutely no remorse. As embodied in his theme song: Hey Tippy Turtle walkin' down the street, Tell us what you're gonna do. "First I'm gonna bother everybody I meet, then I'll probably go home and get drunk!"

I hated that ph&%#-§n' turtle! I can remember only two episodes: one had Tippy in a bank, and another in a post office. He was exceptionally obnoxious in both. If there are others, I can't wait to see 'em.

TV Funhouse did it's own series, I got the DVD set. Also STL put the ones they aired into a prime time special & DVD collection. I was at comic-con when they introduced it. I thought Tippy was OK, I remembered the one where they took the music chip out of a greeting card & hid it in a teacher's desk. drove her mad!

Saturday Night Live is a sketch comedy show live, with a different guest celebrity every week. I have watched its every episode. Currently, I'm watching its latest episode "Robert DeNiro/Diddy-Dirty Money". It's mind blowing. It's very hard for me to choose its one best episode because the complete series is always full of comedy.

Although not animated, Jim Henson's Muppets regularly appeared on SNL durning its' 1st season, featureing all new characters in "The Land of Gorch" segments. http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/The_Land_of_Gorch Also on a slightly offtopic but still funny note. In a 2002 "Weekend Update" segment, Jimmy Fallon joked about a real news story stating "A man in Indiana was arrested for stealing a chicken, taking it to a motel, and having sex with it until it died. Police have issued a warrant for this man" - wherein a picture of Gonzo was displayed.

Speaking of the Muppets and SNL, Cookie Monster made an appearance with Jeff Bridges during the opening monologue. Cookie monster on SNL
