Space cartoon - please help!
Well, I've tried everything. From googling and youtube-ing pictures and videos to walking into every video store I've ever come accross. I'm looking to find the name and hopefully the footage of a very old space cartoon I saw when I was very young. The images are very blurry but hopefully someone can help with what I've got All I can remember, Is a boy and a girl (possibly) traveling around in space in a flying saucer - fairly big and them constantly being attacked by some kind of alien - I think it was orange - and had wings of some sort. Every time the alien would come in range of the space ship there would be this high pitched squealing noise - like an old radio trying to tune into a frequency. I think that at some stage the boy had to climb outside the space ship and walk around on the roof for some reason. maybe to fix something.... Not sure. At some stage they do land on a planet - what to do, I've got no idea I can remember a few other things, but nothing that would help in words. It's kinda hard to separate the stuff thats real and the stuff I've possibly imagined. Though the things I have mentioned are definitely real. Any help would be appreciated on a level I couldn't begin to explain.

Cloudxsoldier! How far back are we talking about? 50's, 60's, 70's? Getting us in the right decade will help us narrow down a few possibilities. Nothing comes to mind to me, but we have a few cartoon wizards in here. In the meanwhile, have a look around the forum! Cheers!

Hi! When it was made, I've got no idea. I watched it in the late 80's as I was only born in 1985. However that doesn't really give you a good indication of when it was made. I have some extremely poor images ive created in ms paint to see if it would jut my memory but it didn't really help. I'll post them if i have to but I think I'll just wait and see if anyone can help with what I've offered. I feel pretty bad only supplying such minimal information but I really can't remember much else. You know when you see a picture of billions of stars clustered together - it almost looks like a fog or a cloud. Looking at those pictures almost always brings me to a state of Dejavue and for a split second I remember the cartoon. Aslo, In star wars, when the jump to 'hyper space' and the stars kinda turn into white lines - That also has something to do with this cartoon. Not sure if this will help the matter - but Im desperate and havnt really offered much - so anything might help at this stage. Regards Luke

Hi everyone! Thanks for the link Dave, though that's what I originally found - there are a total of four of them floating around the web, the two others are on a similar site to you-tube. (4) (5) (6) and (7) i believe which form the second half and can be found with google. I would give anything to get my hands on on the first three. I noticed that Strawdawg posted a picture of the kids from the movie which would have been around the start of the toon as they wheren't in their space outfits yet. Strawdawg, If you read this can you let me know where you obtained these images? The synopsis of this cartoon on the site mentions something about 'la vultour' which in french is vulture. and this 'vultour' hassles them near the beggining of the cartoon during their initial flight into space. The image of this bird like alien/spaceship used to haunt me as a kid and even when i manage to conjure up a half-ass image of it my head I still get that feeling. It's amazing. I feel that there would be others out there who understand what I mean. I'd very much like to even see a picture of this thing. So one more time if anyone out there is reading, the english version is called LITTLE ORBIT, THE ASTRODOG AND THE SCREECHERS FROM OUTER SPACE. If anyone can supply a link or information on how I can obtain a full copy, Ill be forever in their debt. Also, If there is a better forum to do this in please let me know aswell. I feel this forum has done its part and that what I'm looking for is best suitable in another forum, maybe On a final not I want to thank TBCD for helping me so far. I had nearly given up until now. You can't understand how much these forums have helped me and how appreciative I am. regards Luke

This film is very hard to find on video. Although it was released theatrically in France, it isn't even available on DVD at Amazon's French site! However, it was released on DVD in Spain under the title Pluk Naufragos Del Espacio. It was put out on Zone 2 PAL format in its original French, and also had a Spanish audio track. At one time, it was sold in Spain on several sites. There was also a Zone 0 (i.e. universal) DVD released in Spain in 2002 by Divisa Home Video. The title on this version was Pluk: Naúfrago del espacio. However, I can't find any copies of either version for sale anywhere online. Maybe try a Spanish-language eBay site?

Yep, that's Little Orbit the Astrodog all right. I remember seeing that movie a long, time ago on HBO. The girl's name was Firma, and the boy's name was Terry. The scene I saw on Australian YouTube must have been one where Firma and Orbit were looking for Terry, who disappeared while they were exploring that creature's planet. And you could never forget the animator's name: Jean Image. I think he also did a version of Aladdin that pre-dated Disney's, as well as Moon Madness (my memories of this one are kinda vague, but I do remember a song called "The Secret of the Celenite" that everybody was dancing to all through the cartoon.)
