Spanking in Cartoons
|
|
|
No, that's not what I mean, what I mean is that when a vharacter gets in trouble with his mom or dad, they would get a spanking. Cartoons such as "Bellboy Donald" where Donald spanks Pete Jr. for misbehaving or "Never Sock a Baby" where Popeye spanks Sweet Pea and Sweet Pea runs away because of it. If you can find more cartoons, that would be appreciative.

Well, in Friz Freleng's funny '59 Bugs cartoon Apes Of Wrath, when makeshift-infant Bugs is delivered (by the good ol' drunk stork) to a gorilla couple, and the rabbit's alarmed at this prospect, Mama Gorilla says with a smile, "Naughty baby mustn't try to run away.....Mother 'PANK!!" And, in the official introductions to Popeye's four nephews--in the Fleischer cartoons Wimmin Is A Myskery and Pip-Eye, Pup-Eye, Poop-Eye An' Peep-Eye--Olive and Popeye each get a chance at whacking the mischievous quartet....until they take their uncle's cue, down some spinach, and turn the tables on the grownups!

Daffy Duck gets a splendid spanking from a bulldog after blowing up his doghouse in The Up-Standing Sitter [1948, dir. Bob McKimson]. As his spanking ends the toon, Daffy, on duty as a professional baby-sitter, admits that for the foreseeable future, he'll be doing his "sitting standing up." http://www.bcdb.com/...Standing_Sitter.html

In the anime Jack and the Beanstalk movie from the 70s, Jack's mother actually takes a broom and wallops him with it for selling the cow for those beans. In "The Abominable Snow Rabbit" Huggo the abominable snow man spanks Daffy for "pretending to be a bunny rabbit". the same gag is reused in "Spaced Out Bunny" in which Hugo spanks Marvin for "Pretending to be a robot" In "Wee-Willie Wildcat"- Barney Bear prevents his neighbor from spanking his bratty son. Later on, they both attempt to spank him only to hurt their hands because the wiley child has shoved the child handbook in his pants! In "Brother Brat" Butch's mother spanks him with the book that Porky had been using the wrong way. In "Kiss Me Cat" Mark Anthony is being spanked by his owner for throwing cheese into the mousehole.

Baby Buggy Bunny- Bugs spanks Babyface Finster and all his weapons fly out. Mickey's Good Deed- The brat that tortures Pluto gets a spanking at the end. Book Revue- After the lady from the Aldrich Family yells "Henry the eighth!" Henry runs home saying "Coming Mother!" Then she spanks him while calling him a naughty boy.

In the T&J toon, Triplet Trouble, three really naughty kittens get their just deserts in the end when they're spanked while aboard a clothes-drying carousel. As Jerry applies the paddle, Tom dresses the kittens as little angels. The kittens "fly" in circles, assuring that each will return to the paddle for a fresh spanking. In a previous thread called "Quadruple Trouble" (in the MGM part of the Forum), Bmode notes the blooper in this scene in which a second orange kitten is seen riding the carousel, instead of the orange, black and tan kittens who comprise the troublesome triplets.

In one of the Tom & Jerry's Two Mouseketeers cartoons, Nibbles keeps poking Jerry in the butt with his sword. In the end, Jerry spanks him because of it. There is also a Barney Bear cartoon where Barney sees his neighbor spanking his kid. He tells the cat that spanking is not the way to discipline a child and tries child psychology on the kid. At the end of the cartoon however, both Barney and the cat are spanking him.

As I previously mentioned Barney and his neighbor attempt to spank the wildcat boy-but fail to hurt him because he has placed the psychology book in his pants!

There was an episode of the 60's "Lone Ranger" cartoon, "Terror In Toyland," in which the Lone Ranger is up against Tiny Tom's diabolical toys(including a "Tom In The Box."). It ends with him spanking Tiny Tom, while the villain pleads, "No! Not spank me like a child!" And in the Flintstones' episode, "Baby Barney," Uncle Tex spanks "Little Tex" for pulling his hat down. But then, Barney spanks Uncle Tex for spanking him!

"Brother Brat" comes to mind as well. Butch's mom spanks him with the book and she tells Porky that the book works for her.

One could almost describe Tex Avery's Red-Hot Rangers (MGM, 1947) as a continuous spanking, what with the repeated kicks to the backside that George delivers to Junior for his unrelenting incompetence. Nonetheless, the toon does end with a trad over-the-knee spanking, this time inflicted by Junior on George! It seems that George had been preaching about the dangers of smoking in the forest, and how anybody so thoughtless should get the "whipping of his life." When George makes the mistake of demonstrating his point, Junior seizes the moment ("All right, George. Bend over…"). Poor George gets his rear end warmed, and not for the first time. Moments before, his luckless buttocks were actually on fire, and a good, solid spanking then might have been welcome. As it was, Junior did come to his rescue—with a bucket of gas. That George still has a fanny for Junior to spank is a minor comfort. Factoring in the explosive flaming his bottom has already suffered, George's scorched rear end must feel like it's on fire all over again.

How about Chuck Jones's 1953 cartoon Don't Give Up the Sheep" when the ending has what looks like Fred Sheepdog punching in, and greets Ralph Sheepdog, but then Ralph (better known to you as Sam) slaps the top of Fred with a plank. Then the latex mask comes off Fred to reveal my cousin Ralph! Then Sam grabs Ralph and begins constantly spanking Ralph's rear with the plank. Then Fred enters, and Sam leaves, letting Fred continue doing the slamming. And in the 1972 movie "Snoopy Come Home" when Snoopy's with that psychotic girl Clara, and Clara pours some tea but gets some on Snoopy's dress (don't ask!) She says "You naughty dog. You got your dress dirty. I'll have to spank you!" She then grabs Snoopy and begins spanking him, but Snoopy thrashes and escapes, only to get to the phone before Elmyra, I mean Clara catches him and leads him away by the ear.

In a Clyde Crashcup episode of "The Alvin Show", Clyde salutes silent Leonardo's birthday with the traditional spanking (has anyone heard of that birthday tradition?)....since Leonardo turned "40 fingers old," Clyde starts to whack him 40 times, until he realizes it's HIS birthday, to which Leonardo (and Leonardo's mother!) alternately spank Clyde. cd

Clyde salutes silent Leonardo's birthday with the traditional spanking (has anyone heard of that birthday tradition?).... You bet! I actually had a birthday just last week, and on the B-day I left a Wile E. spanking pic on my desktop (subtle hint to my better half!).

I'm sorry, I had to laugh about that Elmyra comment. Did I mention that in one episode of "Family Guy" Stewie spanks Chris while Brian has a cigarette?

In another episode of Family Guy,Lois accidently spanks Stewie while he's on a rebellious streak and has gotten into her belongings. This is the same episode where Peter finds his real dad. In "The Milky Waif" Jerry beats the crap out of Tom after seeing Tom spank Nibbles on the butt with a flyswatter.
