I think you're confusing the Van Beuren Studio with that of Max Fleischer, whose studio was at one time right across the street in New York. The "stone age" cartoons (click on the link to see the filmography) were produced by Max Fleischer and his brother, Dave, at their Miami Studio in 1940. There were only a dozen or so titles in that series; which were not very successful and which caused distributor Paramount Pictures to worry about the overall quality of the output from the Fleischer Studio during their last years. I saw your other post and, yes, the Van Beuren "Aesop's Fables" series did include at least one "stone-age" themed cartoon, entitled, "A Stone-Age Romance". But, as far as I know, this was just part of the Fables series and not a series in and of itself... This Fleischer "Stone-Age Cartoons" series has not been officially released to DVD. Lionsgate curently owns the video distribution rights to this and other Fleischer cartoon series (except for the "Popeye" cartoons, which are now owned and distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment) and has no immediate plans for their release. If you're interested in obtaining the Fleischer series, or just the one Van Beuren "Stone-Age Romance" cartoon... your best bet would be to vist Jerry Beck's Cartoon Research Page. I've included a link here for his "Garage Sale" of burned DVD's. It looks like he owns film prints of 11 out of 12 "Stone Age" titles, along with other "lost" Fleischer cartoons that most likely will never be officially released. Just click on the link and scroll down about mid-way down the page. Jerry also has numerous TerryToons (including some rare B&W titles), Columbia Cartoons, and Famous Studios (the production company that took over the Fleischer Studio in 1942) cartoons for sale. Check it out! You'll have to send Jerry an e-mail at his website to order a copy of these. The DVD's contain "raw" transfers, meaning that the cartoons have not been restored in any way. To keep costs down, Jerry takes a no-frills approch to these DVD's; no artwork or liner notes... just a lot of rare cartoons on DVD for about $20.00 a pop via PayPal, plus shipping and handling. A number of the Van Beuren "Aesop's Fables" titles (I'm not sure about "Stone-Age Romance") have already been released on a compilation DVD from Thunderbean Animation (try searching on Amazon.com). Hope this helps...

The Stone Age cartoon Granite Hotel (1940) is available on the public-domain compilation "The Amazing 300 Classic Cartoon Collection."

I took another look at Jerry's Garage Sale listing and saw that "A Stone-Age Romance" is indeed on the first of his Van Beuren DVD's

Van Beuren or Fleischer? I'm so confused... I remeber only mice as clones of Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend, a clone of Peg-Leg Pete, a dinosaur called Fido, a fire extinguished by mammoth... I'll try to see both Fleischer's Stone age serie and Van Beuren's Stone age romance I am grateful to everyone for the help
