Greetings 623058, and welcome to the Forum! In answer to your question, I have provided this link to an older thread on the Worldwide DVD Forums, in which one contributing member makes a comparison of all the different Tom and Jerry DVD compilations out there. She discusses which cartoons have been edited for content and also makes a visual comparison of the quality of the digital remastering between the existing versions. The three-volume DVD set from Warner Home Video, Tom and Jerry: The Spotlight Collection, that was released here in the U.S. contains, with the notable exception of two titles, all of the Tom and Jerry theatrical cartoons that were co-directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and released by MGM during the 1940's and 50's. When Volumes 1 and 2 of this series were initially released, one disc in each DVD set contained edited versions of various cartoons. This ultimately elicited complaints from hundreds of customers; which prompted WHV to issue replacement discs containing unedited versions of the cartoons in queston. For a full discussion of those affected titles, please refer to my earlier reviews of Volumes 1 and 2 in the "Animated Word" page of this Forum. The two missing titles on Volume 3, Mouse Cleaning (1948) and Casanova Cat (1951), had been left out by Warner Home Video on the grounds that their content was too controversial to warrant their inclusion. In addition, on Volume 3 there is an edit which occurs near the end (at 6:05) of His Mouse Friday (1951). For comparison purposes I have posted links to both the edited version that was used for Volume 3 and an unedited version which appears to have been sourced from a lower-quality print that aired on Boomerang in Europe. To date, WHV has not issued any replacement discs for Volume 3 that would restore the missing cartoons or the one edit in His Mouse Friday; and it seems unlkely that they will do so anytime in the near future.

But I think the T&J 30 is unedited because it says that the DVD is for cartoon bluffs...like us!
