Wall-E
|
|
|
Is anyone looking forward to see Wall-E? I have been reading articles on the movie and I am having mixed feeling about it. If this post is in the wrong place, one of the Admins has my permission to move it to the correct place. I did not see a Pixar Section.

I've seen the trailer for Wall-E. Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of it. On the one hand, It's nice to get a break from talking animals, but the story, while visually impressive, seems fairly run-of-the-mill to me. But I'm not going make any judgments on the film until after I've seen it.

When I saw the trailer for "Ratatouille" I wasn't very interested since it was another talking-animal movie. But "Wall-E" looks kinda promising

People think I am crazy just because I didn't like "Ratatouille." Am I REALLY crazy, or do I see things differently?

I remember seeing a "teaser" for this film in a local movie theatre about a year ago. It kinda looked like Pixar was going back to it's "roots" (i.e., Luxor Jr.) with this newest entry. John Lassiter, when offering praise and condolences for the late Ollie Johnston, pointed out how the one thing he learned from Johnston was to always make his characters think. It will be interesting to see what kind of life can be breathed into "Wal-E"... Just what is he supposed to be, anyway... a robot or a computer?

It does look really cute. I love the clip where he puts the bra on his head. Although I will admit-I am looking forward to seeing Kung Fu Panda too. After all despite the whole "talking animal thing"-who doesn't love pandas?

Bugs Bunny cartoons are not supposed to feature a lisping Viking rabbit hunter enthusiastically professing his operatic love for a bunny in drag.

I even created a site about wall.e. Forgive my ignorance, but how do you have a site dedicated to a movie which hasn't premiered yet? What's on it? A link to the trailer? Anywho, I'm going to refrain from commenting on Wall-E untile I've actually seen it, it's far too early for me to formulate an honest opinion on it, positive or negative. I honestly don't know what to make of Wall-E yet.

its not about the trailer, the movie I figured. But the movie hasn't come out yet, so what could you possibly have on this site? Inside information?

I just don't know yet. I really don't think it will be up to par with stuff like Toy Story and Monsters Inc., but I have been wrong before.

From watching the trailers, Wall-E looks to be a cute movie but it's hard to tell for sure until I see it.

From the trailers, "Ratatouille" looked like it was a typical CGI talking animal movie full of slapstick scenes, instead of the dark movie it really was (and rather boring, in my honest opinion) Excuse me, a mob of angry rats led by Remy are chasing me!

Certainly better than Cars, I thought.

I just saw Wall-E today with my boyfriend and it was terrific! I honestly haven't seen a Pixar movie since the Incredibles-and not because I didn't want to mind you. I just never found the time-or friends to see it with. As for Wall-E-the movie is astoundingly silent for most of the beginning. Wall-E only communicates by saying his name, a few other key words and little noises-so do most of the other robots. Yet there is some great humor and plenty of "aw" moments as well as action. The animation itself is gorgeous with some actual live action bits-such as Wall-E watching the romantic "Hello,Dolly" All in all I highly recommend it!

It's received a 95% approval rating from Rottentomatoes.com. Canwest News Service (which is run by a large chain of major Canadian daily newspapers) gave it five stars (*****) -- I've followed its reviews for a long time and don't remember it ever giving a movie so high a rating! Just came from the cineplex, followed by a late dinner. Pixar has done it again: given us characters to care about, heartbreak, hopes and dreams, Simpsons-like thinking, and parodies galore. I've lost count of how many media icons got poked ... Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, Logan's Run, 2001, Loonatics, Superman .... Somewhere down the road, the Walt Disney company forgot how to make animated features with "heart." John Lasseter and his Pixar team have picked up the dropped torch, and they're running with it like Olympic champions. It's hard to describe how a grungy, nutty trash compactor holds such charm, but ... yeah, WALL·E is a keeper.
