What was cartoon Super dog w/Magical Shoe???

I've desperately been looking for the name of a Cartoon dog that turns into a superhero when he chews on his Magical shoe. He may or may not have had a sidekick. Been looking for almost a year now. Anyone know? I'd appreciate the help...

 Audiopro1. Are you sure it was a shoe and not a coin? Underdog would be to easy right? Is there any other info you can recollect on the toon you seek? 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's?
Is this the same Mckay that does voice work and commercials?
