Am I going crazy? (Probably!) I was sure I had seen a post here about a show that was going to include the Animaland cartoons - but it seems to have vanished!
Some years back David Hand's son was trying to sell the idea of a new series based on the Animaland characters and I'd wondered if this was an attempt to generatew interest in the project...
...but did I just dream the whole thing????

I just looked at the DB about this show. looks like they did only a few during the 40's/50's. from the decriptions it looks like they where more about education of these creatures than anything else. I feel that few people heard of these toons outside the UK. Just like the Bozo toons, I feel that such animation should be preserved.

Meanwhile, the David Hand's Animaland DVD has been re-released by Image Entertainment after being out of print for a few years. It now includes an 18-minute biography read by Dave Hand's son, a filmography, photos of "Animaland" merchandise, and a sampling of Hand's gag cartoons for magazines.
I just seen the pics from that sight. Wow; since he was a Disney Alum, his style looks great. His work should be preserved.

I was flipping through the channels Sat. & came across that toon show on TCM. It was dedicating the whole show on the animaland series. They showed a few shorts & the host gave some history on the production. I found it interesting that they used the same characters in most of the films.
