A cartoon anthology You Must Register Before You Can Post

I've been looking for this book that I had as a kid. It was a hardback, green cloth cover and was an anthology of various comics. These are some of the ones I remember: The Yellow Boy, Gibson Girl, Katzhammammer kids(?) Toonerville Trolley, Adams Family, Felix the cat. It was a wonderful book that I would dearly love to find again. Does anyone know what it was titled? has it and wants to sell it?

I think this may be the book.

Thanks!

This may be a later edition of the same book. The one I had was published in the 40's before some of these cartoons existed. Thanks for the reply. If I can't find my old version, I'll look for this one. I may have located it, if I have, I'll post the name and picture.

Possibly this was by Max Gaines (father of MAD co-founder William "Bill" Gaines) or one of his rivals.

Gaines was a comic-book pioneer; in 1933, his Funnies on Parade and Famous Funnies offered reprints of Sunday newspaper comics. Famous Funnies: A Carnival of Comics featured reprints of Reg'lar Fellers, Dixie Dugan, Joe Palooka, The Nebbs, Keeping Up with the Joneses, Somebody's Stenog and Hairbreadth Harry.

I found it! It's called: Cartoon Cavalcade - A Collection of the Best American Humorous Cartoons from the Turn of the Century to the Present published 1943. Simon and Shuster. Several copies are still available on amazon.com. It's a gem and I can't wait to receive it. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Here's what it looks like with the dust cover. I'm stunned I found a first edition in excellent condition. It's in much better shape than the one I had as a kid. I didn't even know it had a dust cover.

Once again, thanks for helping, great site, great forum resource.
