I'm thinking that this is one big put-on, as an entire channel devoted to a single TV how is far too niche a market, but the article says that even if it were to happen, it wouldn't be for several years, since The Simpsons is still running and has numerous syndication deals. The series would first have to stop making new epsidoes before such a channel could be launched.
In any case, I don't much care, since I stopped paying attention to The Simpsons years ago. The show is basically a zombie now, and it no longer matters to me what they do.

I agree...I stopped watching the new shows since 2002 and I saw the 13 seasons by syndication.
Also...the movie was great!

When I first read about this, I thought it was a joke, but apparently they're serious about it.
I guess The Simpsons have indeed made enough episodes that the show could run all day on its' own channel, since it's been on like forever, but honestly I think a general Fox all-animation channel with The Simpsons as its' anchor would make more sense than devoting an entire channel to just 1 show. That's way too niche a market and I can imagine that it would/will only be a matter of time before that would become stale and tired.
But it should be noted that I've never been a big Simpsons fan; I've been in the "don't care" camp regarding that show for several years now.
What I'd personally like to see FOX do is buy back their Fox Kids library from Disney (since the Mouse House is just sitting on these shows and not airing them anywhere) and launch a Fox Kids Channel. I know that this will likely never happen, but a man can dream.
Dragon Ball/DBZ and Pokemon should each get their own channel, since there are more episodes of those shows than of The Simpsons. Seriously, there are so many better TV shows and TV show genres which would make for a better 24/7 channel. Years ago, someone on TV.com pitched the idea of an all superheroes channel, that is, a 24 hour channel which would show nothing but super hero TV shows and movies. I'd much rather see that than an all Simpsons channel.
