RIP Carroll Shelby- Designer of Gunsmith Cats' car You Must Register Before You Can Post

Caroll Shelby passed away at age 79...auto designer famous for the distinctive Ford Mustang and the souped up Shelby Cobra.

Japanese artist Kenichi Sonoda used the Shelby Cobra as the car owned by gun dealer and bounty hunter Rally Vincent in the manga and anime "Gunsmith Cats".

A 70s Mustang Cobra was a car driven by one of "Charlie's Angels" in the original 1970s series...I think that was Jill Munroe's (Farrah Fawcett) car.

The 1984-1985 cartoon series "Pole Position" featured a 1960s era red Mustang named "Wheels" that had a computer monitor face that talked back to its driver who was special agent Tess Darrett. The Mustang can sprout wings and switch to hovercraft mode. Based loosely on the video game.

Hardboiled detective "Mike Hammer" (Stacy Keach) drove a vintage 1965 Mustang while investigating crime cases in the 1980s "Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer" series.

And of course, San Francisco police detective Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen) drove a Mustang in one of the best car chases ever filmed in the film "Bullitt".
