Waaayyyy too much time on my hands You Must Register Before You Can Post

Well, this time, I can't really help it. I got laid off from work, and not very many people are hiring (though I *am* continuously looking), so there's not much else I *can* do. Anyway, today, I found an interesting site. It lets you create labels for old Atari 2600 game cartridges. So I made a couple just for the heck of it:

Like the title of this post. Waaaayyyyy too much time . . . . .

Ah yes, Atari cartridges. Takes me back.

Sorry about the lay-off, and good luck with the search.

I might make a couple for Woody Woodpecker and Loopy de Loop.

What is the name of the site?

The problem is with Atari 2600 graphics...

The characters are probably block shaped cursors on the tv screen.

CGI are worlds away... Tongue

And here are a couple more from my warped imagination:

(I *had* to do one that featured my cat, I'm obsessed with her)

(I can really see this game. The levels would feature some of "I Love Lucy"'s most famous scenes like the candy factory conveyor belt, and stomping grapes)

Aw man. I'll try it again, but it's in the form of an attachment. As usual, I'm having trouble putting the image in the post itself. Even the "copy", "paste" won't work.

Yep...I think the Loopy de Loop Game would have Loopy save chickens and try to dodge dogs otherwise he loses a life.

Seeing i do enjoy game shows as well, feast your eyes on these...

In addition, I am also involved in the virtual world of Second Life, and I have an avatar named Darla Hadisson. Here is a video game cartridge label based on my avatar, who was inspired by a brief scene from the "Cap'n Spanky's Showboat" episode, minus the brushes:

More to come, possibly.

Re: Waaayyyy too much time on my hands [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

Also, I am not one to say this, but I was developing computer games for a while. They're not Atari-style games, but they were created using Visual Basic 6.0. Two of my game creations were very close to being completed, but unfortunately, due to copyright reasons, I cannot release the games publicly on these boards.

Anyways, here are two more Atari labels...

Based on the comic book version, when he appeared to be 7...

And now, the 1980s cartoon version, when he appeared to be 12...

I personally liked the comic book version of Richie more.

And now, the so-called animorphic animal version of The Little Rascals (complete with the Atari logo!)...

I did a Get Along Gang one as well awhile back. I used a different screen shot, and a different name, though:

I based the name off an episode of the show

And, just for kicks and giggles, here are some other game spoofs I've done:

(no reason)

(the end result is one is the winner, and the other becomes a sandwich)

(the game would be based on the Care Bears 1983 animated special, "The Care Bears in the Land Without Feelings," I only did the 1984 copyright date because that's when I first saw the special)

(mein sister's favorite 80's cartoon)

(this was made using a screenshot of the game "Circus Atari." When mein sister and I were younger, we affectionately called the game "Splat")

I'd do one for Strawberry Shortcake to round out all my 80's childhood favorites, but she already had her own Atari game.

Re: Waaayyyy too much time on my hands [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

Here's another game show creation. A game show that returned to GSN (Game Show Network) this past week, with 1983 episodes that have not been shown since the original CBS airings to start!

And btw, I do have to say, I know of someone in the game show community who is developing a Press Your Luck computer game, with real authenticity to that of the show. It used to exist on the Internet, and was a free version, but surprisingly hasn't been hit by any Cease and Desist order by FremantleMedia at all.

If Sonic the Hedgehog EVER had a game for Atari, it would look like this...
