Will Beall to write "Justice League" Movie You Must Register Before You Can Post

It looks like the on again, off again Justice League movie is back on...again. This time with a new writer, Will Beall, screenwriter of Gangster Squad.

I have to say, Warner Brothers really dropped the ball here. There were plans for a JL movie as early as 2000, but WB seriously dragged their heels, and it didn't help how the DC movie characters were completely isolated from one another. The insane box office numbers of The Avengers must have WB execs kicking themselves every night. undoubtetly, this will cause WB to re-think it's stragety regarding superhero movies, but now, no matter how clever their strategy is, people are going to say "They're trying to copy The Avengers. Now matter how awesome the JL movie may become, Marvel will always have a leg up on DC because they did it first. But honestly, Marvel's strategy of having all the solo super hero movies and including teasers at the end each solo movie leading up to The Avengers was brilliant. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Re: Will Beall to write "Justice League" Movie [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

Feh. DC and Warner Bros. have no one to blame but themselves for the JL movie debacle. They could've been teasing and preparing for a Justice League movie as far back as 2000; they could've been dropping hints at it in Superman Returns, the Nolan Batman movies and Green Lantern, but they opted to make the Nolanverse so rooted in reality that it couldn't accommodate the more fantasy-based heroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Lantern, so there'd be no way to expect Superman to fly past and give a nod to Batman in a Nolan film or a hint at a Justice League Initiative at the end of Green Lantern. DC's movies are so isolated from one another that perhaps DC stands for Ditch Continuity.

And they really dropped the ball on Wonder Woman, whom you can't do a Justice League movie without. In all this time, there's still no concrete WW film in the works, and now the rumor mill has it that a Ms. Marvel movie may be coming down the pike. We couldn't get a Wonder Woman movie from DC, but we get that horrible Jonah Hex film? Really?? I try to avoid using overdone internet memes, but if we get a Ms. Marvel movie before a Wonder Woman movie, or if WW has to make her big screen debut in Justice League it will DC's biggest fail in recent memory.
