"Peppa Pig" wins big at Licensing Awards in Vegas

British animated kids' TV show "Peppa Pig," which also airs on Nick Jr. in the United States, was the big winner in the Film, Television, Celebrity or Entertainment category at the International Licensing Excellence Awards in Las Vegas. As well, Peppa Pig won for Peppa Pig/Fun to Learn and Bag-O-Fun magazines. The mobile game Angry Birds from Sweden's Rovio Entertainment, which has sold over 12 million worldwide, took the most honors of any product at the awards. It won for Overall Best Licensed Program of the Year and Best Character/Toy Brand Program for its plush stuffed animals and products. Winning one of the 17 prizes was American retailer Walgreens, a first-time winner as Best Retailer of the Year for products associated with the weight-loss reality TV show The Biggest Loser. The Licensing Expo draws retailers, manufacturers and brand owners alike to show the latest licensing deals for the upcoming year.
