Right! Forgive me for barging in with a new thread but I cannot find any forum discussions on this monumental (in my opinion... and maybe 3 others', ha ha!) DVD release.
I would never have acknowledged this 10 years ago, but I am a huge fan of the Sniffles cartoons these days. The really sad thing (as if THAT weren't sad enough...) is that he is the ONLY WB character to have nearly his entire output undergo the dreaded Blue Ribbon reissue program. So if anybody can tell me if the cartoons on the DVD (out in August) have original titles reinstated, I would be greatful. Amazon and Cartoon Brew have plently of info and discussion but annoyingly no references to the Blue Ribbon massacres.
Also noticed "Looney Tunes Platinum Collection" came out last November. Is it any good? Does Katnip Kollege have it's title card restored? Yeah, wishful thinking!

Are you talking about the DVD that gathers up all the Chuck Jones "Hubie and Bertie" and "Sniffles" cartoons in one disc? Yeah, I can't wait for that one to come out, even if there will inevitably be some double-dipping with the LTGC sets.

Only the first Sniffles short, May 20, 1939's Naughty But Mice, escaped the Blue Ribbon treatment. All the Sniffles shorts released after that did get Blue Ribbonized. Those ones are:

Until now, Bedtime For Sniffles has been very hard to find on video. It was on the 1991 Kids Klassics/GoodTimes Home Video public-domain compilation Christmas Comes But Once a Year (VHS, of course).
In 1986, MGM Home Entertainment released the VHS tape Sniffles the Mouse Cartoon Festival Featuring "Sniffles Bells the Cat." This compilation contained four cartoons: Sniffles Bells The Cat, The Brave Little Bat, Toy Trouble and Lost And Foundling.
