I have a question as to the Yogi Bear short entitled "Bare Face Bear" from 1959:
The sheriff's dog (he is white and black, with long black ears) in the short - instead of barking normally "Woof! Woof!" he goes "Yo! Yo! Yo!" Why does this dog go "Yo! Yo! Yo!" when barking?
Likewise, a grammatical mistake occurs: the sheriff misspells crooks as cruks. He does so by spelling out "C-R-U-K-S" rather than the proper "C-R-O-O-K-S." You know, the line where he says "Not bears! Crooks! C-R-U-K-S! Crooks!"

Actually, the pace/timing was an adult style joke. IMO a kid would sit there & say, "when will the guy yell at the dog?" He waited about 30 seconds or so, which took up a lotta time in that cartoon!! Also an easy way for the writer to get outta extra work!
BTW I have a print of this cartoon done in Spanish (TV from Ecuador), and I have to watch it again.....the sheriff tells the dog that they are after "ladrones" (Spanish for robbers) & I have to hear his wacky spelling of "ladrones"---remember, he has to cram more letters in a short time. I plan to get back on this.

Also, this is my 150th post!
With regard to forum posts, it's quality, not quantity, that counts; as others (including me) have been told by some of the grand old men of this forum.
I have close to 5,000 posts on here; but my own opinion is that maybe only one-eighth of them are worth reading.
