Ok group, i had good luck here before...so here goes another newbee question
How does one get the attention of distribution companies? for an animated for television series? We have a date in California for getting the series seen, but the boss thinks if we walk in with a letter of intent to distribute, then it would give us more leverage for commitment. Any suggestions?
Assuming that you have a Web site, I'd strongly suggest that you post a showreel or teaser on it. (Not necessarily the whole episode!).
That way, when you get in touch with a distribution company, you can simply refer to your site for an example of your work. This saves the time and trouble of making a hard copy and sending it to your prospect, where it could be "lost" in the incoming mail.
Many studios (and distributors!) post teaser videos of series on their sites.
