Hello all. This is my first post here, and, of course, I am looking for help. I am trying to locate an old "Follow The Bouncing Ball" cartoon feature the song, "By The Light of The Silvery Moon". So far I have found two videos on YouTube that indicate the song is in the video, but it's not. I came across this Forum, and thought, What a perfect place to look.
Anyone have any ideas. It would really make my wife's day (and hopefully my night) if I can find this.
Are you sure you aren't thinking of another moon tune, "Shine on, Harvest Moon?" Because that's in a Screen Song from Famous Studios, Farm Foolery (1949).
Thanks for you reply. No, I am definitely looking for "By The Light of The Silvery Moon". She doesn't remember much about it, other than the words scrolling in front of a starry sky.
Fleischer Studios released a Screen Song by that title in 1931. It's unavailable on YouTube; in general, Screen Songs from Fleischer are extremely hard to locate.
P.S.: Myron Waldman was hired at Fleischer Studios in 1930 as an inker and fill-in artist. This cartoon, By the Light of the Silvery Moon, marked his promotion to animator.
