Should the Looney Tunes Show be/been rated TV-G? You Must Register Before You Can Post

I remember hearing some complaints online about the Looney Tunes Show being rated TV-PG. But truth be told, at times the show doesn't seem very TV-PG -like material to me. Especially when there's worse stuff on the same channel that's rated TV-Y7-FV or something.
An example? "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated." It is rated TV-Y7-FV, yet it's much darker, and contains scenes of extreme violence and some sexual innuendos, not to mention more frightening villains and situations (even if they're still fake), and people actually DIE on this show too (I'm not gonna spoil anything here.)
But "The Looney Tunes Show" has almost none of that (with the exception of "Eligible Bachelors," which has a small bit of violence on part with SD:MI.) Did they just accidentally switch the ratings for both shows? In most cases, a simple TV-G would work better with "The Looney Tunes Show." Even the most recent episode, "Spread Those Wings and Fly," had pretty much nothing that would gain it a TV-PG rating.
Then there was also when Boomerang reran "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home." The content on that show is definitely PG (as it was meant for prime time back in 1972), but when Boomerang reran it, they rated it TV-Y7!

Or maybe I'm just crazy. But then again, if "Itchy and Scratchy" had a TV parental guideline rating, it'd probably also be TV-Y7-FV (as it also contains "fantasy violence" and is shown as part of the Krusty the Clown Show!)

I think the network just imposes the TV-PG rating so the censors won't watchdog the show so closely. The rating is just a way of freeing the writers up to be a little looser with the content than they'd be able to do on a show with a TV-Y or TV-Y7 rating.

A TV-G rating seems entirely appropriate for The Looney Tunes Show, so I'm agreeing with you, WileE.

However, since this is a series, composed of a collection of episodes, there's likely one or two isolated instances of potentially objectionable content. In a case of erring on the side of safety, the show received a sterner rating that applies globally.

Like yourself, sir, many parents are sampling The Looney Tunes Show's content, and finding little to nothing disturbing. This makes the rating it carries a "worst-case" advisory, rather than a litmus reading of maturity.

As far as I can tell, TLTS is being very carefully and shrewdly managed. The producers know how volatile the fan base can be, and how picky parents can be. It's a tightrope that the Looney Tunes are walking, and so far, they're taking to it like Wallendas.
