Franklin had played divorcee Ann Romano in the long running CBS comedy series "One Day At A Time" who raised two teenaged daughters Julie (MacKenzie Phillips) and Barbara (Valerie Bertinelli) in Indianapolis. Pat Harrington Jr. played building maintenance guy Schneider, who acted as a temporary father figure. Groundbreaking series to have a divorcee as a strong main character.
Franklin was appearing in the soap opera "The Young and The Restless" in recent years.
