Re: Cartoon Character Game, Part Deux! [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

Yes, it's Cybersix from the show of the same name.
1. Cybersix was an Argentinian comic series and first appeared in Italy. Yet while written in Spanish, Italian and French, it has never been translated into Japanese or English.

2. At night--although there are a few exceptions from time to time, Cybersix fights crime--in particular whatever her evil creator, Dr. Von Reichter, and his "son" Jose (who's actually a youthful clone of himself, which is never mentioned in the animated series) are up to. By daytime, she teaches high school literature--in the guise of a man.

3.Only 13 episodes were produced--which was a shame because while there was actually an ending of sorts--they could have easily carried it on from there.

Ok, here we go,

This cartoon begins with Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.

Since the doors were all closed, I had to enter the theater in an unusual way.

I don't say a word, but I do snore.

Hmm, this could almost be Jerry Mouse from MGM's The Cat Concerto, but Jerry's been used already, and Jerry was already asleep inside the grand piano when Franz Liszt's concerto started.

I came across several cartoons that use that piece, but not one of them has characters that match the clues.

Nope. Here are three more.

My cartoon is yet another stopmotion short.

I find it annoying when I can't conduct the band that is on stage.

That band (on stage) consisted of glow-in-the-dark instruments.

Well it sure as heck ain't anything from Tubby the Tuba. (Although when I was quite little I did see a performance with glow in the dark fluorescent instrument puppets.

Re: Cartoon Character Game, Part Deux! [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

OK, the last three.

I am a Puppetoon.

My short was from the early 1940s.

Billy Bletcher was the voice of the announcer (Master of Ceremonies) for this short.

The Conductor from The Little Broadcast (I don't know if he actually has a name or not).

Re: Cartoon Character Game, Part Deux! [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

That's right Kris! It is the conductor from George Pal Puppetoons' The Little Broadcast (1943). Apparently, his name is Great Maestro.

In the beginning, the theatre doors were closed, so Maestro went into a manhole and came out in the orchestra pit.

He fell asleep during one of the stage performances, and starts to snore while the announcer was trying to introduce the next act.

He fell asleep because he got board (he wasn't conducting).

The rest of the clues are self-explanatory.

Take it away...

Re: Cartoon Character Game, Part Deux! [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

Ok, here are the first three clues for the next character:

1. After talking to me for just minutes, you would find it mind-boggling that I am literally the top person in my field.

2. I really do want to seem cultured and worldly, but mispronouncing words when I'm trying to impress someone usually gives me away really quickly.

3. I definitely have an "unrequited" love- not in the traditional sense, though, This person knows I love them, they just can't really stand me is the problem.

Re: Cartoon Character Game, Part Deux! [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

K, here are the next three clues.

4. I am so into the person I love that I love them even when I don't know it's them! In at least one situation, that led to some very confusing feeling until I found out it was them.

5. My voice actor is definitely a veteran in the field and has provided the voices for some really well know and iconic characters.

6. The most important rule in my organization is named after me.

Re: Cartoon Character Game, Part Deux! [In reply to] You Must Register Before You Can Post

Damfine gets the prize! It is indeed Zapp Brannigan, from futurama!

Now, as to the clues, for those who are interested...
1. Zapp is the senior officer in Earth's military (technically, the D.O.O.P.'s military). Quiteliterally, he is only below the D.O.O.P. secretary and President Nixon's head. Yet, it is obvious to basically everyone, he is a complete buffoon.
2. Zapp mispronounces words like champagne, guacamole, and encore while trying to impress people or convince them he is refined.
3. Zapp is always trying to get Leela to go out with him- which she simply does not want to do (even going so far as to fake having a fiancee). But he simply ignore it, even going so far as to question as to pose the question "How could you? Our love has had to endure your constant hatred, and now this??"
4. As has been established above, Zapp really has the hots for Leela, so to speak. So much so that in one instance, he was incredibly attracted to a new recruit named Lee Lemon- Leela in disguise. Disguised, of course, as a man. He says, to wit: "That young man fills me with hope. Plus some other emotions which are weird and deeply confusing."
5. Billy West provides the voice of Zapp Brannigan.
6. In a parody of Star Trek's 'Prime Directive', the D.O.O.P.'s cornerstone policy is avoiding interfering with undeveloped planets, aka "Brannigan's Law".

So there ya go kiddos. Take it away Damfine!
