What is your favourite Studio Ghibli film and why.
Mine still has to be My Neighbour Totoro. Only because it was the first film I saw. I still love the scene where they make the acorns grow and the scene with the umbrella and frog.
"Lupita Castle In The Sky",followed in this order by"Porco Rosso", then "Nausca Valley Of The Wind." That is not to say that all the films from Ghibli Studio are not good. Nato.
I'd have to say Laputa: The Castle in the Sky, followed closely by Mononoke Hime and Pom Poko. Although, to be fair, I haven't seen Tales from Earthsea (US release isn't until late 2009, perhaps along with Ponyo on a Cliff, the latest Ghibli film- coming out this year in Japan) or Grave of the Fireflies yet. I also liked Only Yesterday, but it would be lowest on my list.
Since they're the only two I've seen, I'd have to say Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away. It's hard to choose which one is better: they're both equally good.
They are sort of realistic, like ordinary life with its odd surprises normally hidden and I can imagine something like that easily happening to me XD (and it has to tell the truth!).
