name of puma chasing Bugs You Must Register Before You Can Post

My friend and I are racking our brains trying to remember the name of the predator that was chasing Bugs Bunny. I think it's a Mountain Lion or Puma. He keeps forgetting what kind of animal he's chasing.
"Hey Doc, what are you chasing?"
"Now lemmee see here...? Was it a... No No, wasn't a hippopotamus. Nope, wasn't an aardvark..."
"Was it a rabbit?"
"Yeah! Yeah! A r abbit!"

He's actually a wolf, not a puma, but the comic mechanism fits that of Charles M Wolf perfectly. Charlie appears in Hare-less Wolf, one of the Merrie Melodies from Warner Brothers in 1958. The cartoon page in the BCDB is here: http://www.bcdb.com/...-Hare-Less_Wolf.html

I'm trying to remember, didn't he also appear in Bugs's final theatrical short, "False Hare"?

No, that was the Big Bad Wolf, called "Uncle Big Bad" by his enthusiastic nephew. "Hare-less Wolf" was Charlie's one and only appearance in the Looney Tunes.

BTW, The name of the short in which Pete Puma appears is titled Rabbit's Kin (1952, Directed by Robert Mckimson).

Hare-Less Wolf was directed by Friz Freleng, but Charlie's name is an obvious nod to fellow WB director Charles M. "Chuck" Jones.

Similarly, a Jones-directed short, Hasty Hare, features an astronomer who's a caricature of Friz Freleng. Cartoon Network seems to be aware of this synergy, since they often air these 2 shorts together in the same hour-long installments.
